Keajra Kadampa Buddhist Centre
Keajra Buddhist Centre is a registered charity (No 1080291) dedicated to public benefit and service. Its purpose is to help people throughout the local area to increase their peace of mind and solve their human problems through wisdom and compassion, and to provide guidance, support and facilities for those wishing to follow the Buddhist path to permanent peace of mind, full enlightenment.
The Centre was founded by the highly respected meditation master and author Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, after a local group of students had worked together to raise funds for a building.
The name 'Keajra' was given by Geshe Kelsang. Keajra refers tothe Pure Land of Buddha Heruka and Vajrayogini, Highest Yoga Tantra Deities.
Keajra is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union and has a community of both lay and ordained practitioners from many different backgrounds and walks of life. The community try to integrate the wisdom and compassion that Buddha taught, into their busy lives and volunteer at the Centre to cherish others with their skills and time so that the teachings can be shared with others.
Keajra KBC also strives to exemplify the Buddhist faith through offering service to the local community by means of talks at businesses, schools, colleges and groups, as well as caring for those who are ill in hospital and hospices through the Kadampa chaplaincy service. Keajra Centre's home is located in the heart of Blackpool, North Shore, within easy walking distance to the promenade, gardens and shops. and can be reached by all modes of transport from all over the UK.

Kearja KBC is an independent charity and relies on the kindness of its supporters, benefactors and volunteers. There is quite a lot of work to do to maximise our benefit to the local and wider communities. If you are able to help financially and/or practically, this would be wonderful.
To offer any skills, materials, etc, or to set up a monthly donation, please contact the Centre to discuss your wishes and/or make arrangments for your work to begin.
Residential accommodation
There are currently no rooms available for rent on a residential basis.
Guest accommodation
A guest room (twin beds) is available for occasional stays (£35 per person per night, room only basis). Bookings for this must be received and agreed at least 24 hours in advance from the date your stay begins. We ask that guests respect the property as a place of peace, and refrain from intoxicants (smoking, drinking alcohol or taking illegal drugs) anywhere on the premises.
